.IT Domain Names

Established in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-code TLD is quite popular both within the country and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for forming inventive and catchy domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to create an easy-to-remember domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to come back to your website or to share it with colleagues and acquaintances. The domain extension can also be used for a website, which is linked to the technology sector taking into account that IT is an abbreviation, which is used around the world.

Given the fact that .IT domains are not registered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that manages this domain extension, such a domain can be booked through a third-party registration provider, such as ours. We will manage the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry organization. You can buy a dot IT domain for one year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. The only restriction is that the person registering such a domain should be located in a member state of the EU.

As there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of different regions and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that consist of geographical areas of any sort are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not offer such 3rd-level domains, though, given that they can be registered only by locals.
