Varnish is a web application accelerator platform, which caches content for the sake of quicker access. It is sometimes called a caching HTTP reverse proxy as well and it works between a web server and its users. When a site visitor opens a given webpage, the content is requested by the browser, and then the server handles this request and sends back the required data. If Varnish is enabled for a given website, it will cache the pages at the first visit and in case the user visits a cached page once again, the content will be delivered by the caching platform and not by the server. The improved load speed is a result of the significantly faster response time that Varnish offers compared with any web server software. At the same time, this doesn’t mean that the site visitors will keep seeing the very same content over and over again, as any modification on any of the pages is reflected in the content that Varnish caches in its system memory.

Varnish in Hosting

Varnish is offered as an optional upgrade with all our hosting plans. You can add it to your account through the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is available with all shared hosting plans and you’ll get a truly easy-to-use interface, which will grant you complete control over the content caching platform. Using one-click quick-access controls, you can restart or delete any of the instances, i.e. Varnish will no longer be enabled for a specific website. You can also check a comprehensive log file or clear the cache for any of the Internet sites. When you add Varnish to your web hosting package, you will be able to choose the maximum amount of memory that will be at your disposal for caching purposes and the number of the websites that will use Varnish. You can always order more memory in increments of 32 MB and, for optimal performance, you can allocate a dedicated IP to the websites that will use Varnish. This will permit you to take full advantage of your Internet sites and to have many happy site users.

Varnish in Semi-dedicated Servers

The Linux semi-dedicated servers that we’re offering will allow you to employ Varnish as soon as your new account has been opened, since the content caching platform is available by default. 64 megabytes of system memory will be allocated to Varnish the moment your account is activated, so you can take advantage of this workload balancing software as soon as your site has been launched. In case you need more memory, you can add 32 MB at a time from the Upgrades section of the Hepsia Control Panel and it will be allocated to your semi-dedicated server immediately. You can also increase the number of the Internet sites that employ Varnish, or the so-called ‘instances’, which are not directly bound to the amount of memory that you use, which means that you’ll have more flexibility. The caching platform will noticeably reduce the load on the semi-dedicated server caused by your sites, so your website visitors can enjoy fast-loading web pages. You will be able to manage Varnish without effort via your Hepsia Control Panel using quick-access controls. You’ll be able to start/delete any of the instances that you have, to delete the cached content for any of your websites or to see system log files.

Varnish in VPS Servers

The Varnish content caching platform is included by default with each of the Linux VPS plans offered by us as long as the VPS is ordered with the Hepsia Control Panel, so you can optimize the work of your sites with only a couple of mouse clicks. The more powerful the package, the more system memory will be available to Varnish, but even with a lower-end package, the platform will be able to utilize several hundred MB, so even if you run a handful of Internet sites, you’ll notice a substantial reduction in the overall server load and a considerably faster website loading speed. The Varnish caching platform will need to work for a little while while the visitors navigate the web pages and once the site content has been cached, you’ll notice the effects. One of the pluses of employing Varnish is that a less powerful and less expensive VPS package will accomplish the very same job as a more high-priced one without the caching platform, so not only will your sites perform better, but you’ll also save some cash.

Varnish in Dedicated Servers

You can employ Varnish in order to accelerate the loading speed of any site that’s hosted on a dedicated server from our company when the Hepsia hosting Control Panel is installed on the machine. Not only will you get the data caching platform ready for use at no additional fee, but you will also exert full control over it via the Hepsia Control Panel’s simple-to-navigate GUI. It will take just one single click of the mouse to start or shut down an instance or to clear the cached files for any site that is using the Varnish platform and in case you are more competent, you can also see the platform’s system logs. Varnish comes with at least 3 gigabytes of system memory for data caching purposes, so even if you run multiple websites on your dedicated server and they all use the platform, the improvement in their performance will be observable. You’ll just have to wait for a little while until Varnish caches whatever webpages the website visitors open on their end. The platform works best if the websites use a dedicated IP address, but owing to the fact that our dedicated servers come with three charge-free IPs, you’ll have all that you need.
